When you deploy your app to the Mendix Cloud, our intelligent health manager diligently monitors its health. In the event of unresponsive or crashed app containers, the health manager automatically detects and resolves these issues by destroying the unhealthy containers and initiating new ones. This swift auto-healing process guarantees a rapid resolution, significantly improving your app’s availability.

Horizontal scaling

Our cloud platform supports seamless horizontal scaling, allowing you to effortlessly adjust the number of app containers your application runs on. By utilizing at least two instances, your solution becomes fully high available. In the case of an unhealthy container, the load is automatically distributed among the remaining containers, while the problematic container is replaced automatically. From an end-user perspective, this means uninterrupted access and zero downtime.

Fallback with Premium packs

With our Premium packs, apps benefit from a standby database located in a separate availability zone from the primary database. In the unfortunate event of an availability zone outage, where the primary availability zone becomes entirely unavailable, we swiftly switch over to the standby database, making it the primary one. This ensures that your app continues to run seamlessly, processing user requests even before the primary availability zone is restored. With the Standard pack, you would have to wait for the primary availability zone with your database to become available again.

Regional Fallback with Premium Plus packs

Now, with our new Premium Plus pack, we raise the bar even higher. We provide your apps with a standby database located in a different region than the primary database. In case of a region outage, where the primary region becomes completely inaccessible, we automatically switch over to the standby database, making it the primary one. This unprecedented regional fallback ensures that your app remains operational and continues to process requests, even before the primary region is fully restored. With the Standard and Premium packs, you would have to wait for the primary region with your database to become available again.
