ISV MeetUp 8 March 2023
I had the honor of hosting another ISV Meetup and truly, I couldn’t be happier with how the event turned out! As the ISV program is growing, attendance of this meetup went up significantly compared to the previous meetup! It was a fantastic opportunity for Mendix and our ISV partners to come together and share knowledge and experiences in the industry.Franklin van Buren, one of our Product Managers at Mendix, kicked off the meetup by showcasing the new ISV private space on the Mendix Forum and the vision behind this. This new feature on the Mendix Forum was released recently and brings a lot of opportunities for Mendix and ISVs! Firstly, it creates a sense of community among ISVs who may be facing similar challenges or opportunities. This sense of community fosters a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing that can lead to new ideas and innovations. Secondly, it provides a platform for ISVs to ask questions and seek advice from other members of the community, which can help them overcome obstacles or find solutions more quickly. Lastly, it allows Mendix to share important updates and information with ISVs in a centralized location, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals. The second presentation of the meetup was done by Andrew Whalen, founder at Blue Storm. He talked about the solution he built as an ISV, which is potentially also interesting for other ISVs: the Mendix Operations Manager (MxOM). MxOM is a tool with a lot of functionalities that can help govern applications on both the Mendix or on Private Cloud.David Hartveld, Product Manager at Mendix, gave us an update on everything related to Mendix for ISVs. Over the past year, a lot of features were released that help ISVs build and maintain commercial solutions, features such as IP Protection and Solution Lifecycle Management. These help bridge gaps that were previously crossed with self-made solutions and make for an overall better development experience, new business opportunities and a way better maintainable solution throughout the entire lifecycle.Overall, the event was a huge success and serves as a reminder of the value of collaboration and knowledge sharing. The ISV program is growing rapidly, and I couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our ISV partners and seeing the innovative solutions they will bring to the table, as well as build a vibrant and thriving community together.
