Chief Information Security Officer

Mendix tenure: Joined Mendix from 2009-2015, rejoined 2017

 

As the company’s Chief Information Security Officer, Baalbergen directs implementation of cybersecurity, governance, and regulatory compliance measures to safeguard Mendix customer data and digital processes. He oversees a team of forty who conduct product security, security assurance, and quality operations.

Under Baalbergen’s tenure, Mendix has earned more than 18 security-related certifications and assurances from a wide range of international organizations. These institutions include the International Organization of Standardization (ISO), International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE), Payment Card Industry (PCI), the Royal Netherlands Standardization Institute, US’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and the UK’s National Cyber Security Center’s Cyber Essentials certification, among others.

Baalbergen is laser-focused on his role as a cybersecurity leader. Outside of his Mendix duties, he is one of a handful of individuals in the world to earn nine ISC2 certifications bases on coursework covering security engineering, risk management, and security requirements for cloud, healthcare, operations, and administration.
